MEET KATHLEEN

As a child growing up in Newington, CT, our family spent lots of time together in the parks and woods, lakeside and seaside, where my mom, dad and sisters played at collecting and learning about all things growing, treasures of nature... stones and shells and fruits and wildflowers, nature's changing, endless song.

I graduated from Central Connecticut State University and spent a year at UCONN Law School before studying culinary arts under well-known chefs in the US and abroad. The years to follow were focused in food presentation, building a catering enterprise and two restaurants in Granby and Simsbury, CT. We provided food and ambience for weddings and events throughout CT, MA and NY. My pleasure was not only creating the highest quality foods, we particularly delighted in presenting them simply, naturally, in copper pans and unusual vessels. We partnered with wonderful floral sources locally and on-site. Often we added flowers and branches from my Avon home garden to add to the tablescapes and celebration settings.

Now in our ever-unfolding story, we're working in a world of flowers, designing and presenting floral arrangements that engage the senses in the look we've developed throughout our experiences. We're continually inspired by the icons in flower artistry whose dazzling talent amazes and encourages us, and also by floral friends we've been very lucky to meet. These women are splendid artisans and their work is magnified by the many of us aspiring to continue in their style.

My joy in nature is, I hope, evident in the work we do to share with you. My great thank you is to my so-supportive life partner, and to my diversely skilled friends who help create our flower designs.
